Ljubljana, Slovenia – September 2026. The final week of September brought together representatives from the five universities involved in the CLIMB UNITED project for a new Steering Committee meeting hosted in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to move beyond online collaboration and work together face-to-face and on site. Over several working sessions, representatives from the five partner universities shared updates on the implementation of CLIMB UNITED at their respective institutions, exchanged experiences and discussed the progress of the project.
One of the topics addressed during the meeting was the results of the surveys conducted as part of the project, providing an opportunity for the partner universities to share and discuss the information collected so far. The Steering Committee also focused on the next steps and future activities, continuing to strengthen coordination and collaboration among the five institutions.
Experiencing CLIMB UNITED in Slovenia
The meeting in Ljubljana was not limited to working sessions. It also provided an opportunity for the international project team to experience first-hand some of the activities being developed in Slovenia.
As part of the visit, participants joined students and staff from the University of Ljubljana for two outdoor summer activities: a via ferrata and a stand-up paddleboarding session.
The via ferrata offered an opportunity to combine physical activity, nature, challenge and teamwork, while the paddleboarding activity provided a more relaxed setting for sharing time and experiences with students and colleagues.
Taking part in these activities allowed the Steering Committee members to experience directly how CLIMB UNITED is being implemented in Slovenia and to see how physical activity and outdoor experiences can create opportunities for connection, participation and shared experiences within the university community.
Strengthening collaboration across universities
Beyond the formal working sessions, the meeting in Ljubljana also contributed to strengthening the relationships between the five partner universities. Meeting in person, exchanging experiences and participating together in activities created new opportunities to learn from one another and to continue developing the project collaboratively.
The Ljubljana meeting therefore represented another important step in the implementation of CLIMB UNITED, combining project coordination and joint work with opportunities to experience the project activities directly.
As the project continues, the five universities remain committed to working together, sharing experiences and developing new opportunities for students and university staff through CLIMB UNITED.
From screens to shared experiences: CLIMB UNITED continues to move forward together.
