Turning Survey Results into Concrete Action

We are delighted to announce that the survey phase of Climb UnitedAscend Together has come to a close, with great success. Across our five partner universities — Université Savoie Mont Blanc (France), University of Beira Interior (Portugal), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), University of Turin (Italy), and University of Zaragoza (Spain) — students and staff came together in great numbers to share their experiences with physical activity.

A strong response from our university communities

In total, we gathered over 5,100 survey responses, a result that reflects real engagement from students and staff across all partner institutions. These responses include a wide range of profiles in terms of physical activity levels, which will help us create a comprehensive analysis.

What happens next?

With the survey phase now complete, the research team will carry out a detailed comparative analysis and institutional recommendations for all five universities. This analysis will allow us to build a comprehensive baseline understanding of:

  • current levels of physical activity among students and staff,
  • the specific needs of each university community, and
  • the constraints that may be holding people back from being more active.

This baseline is a crucial foundation for the project. It will help us design concrete, tailored actions for the next two years of Climb United.

Upcoming actions

Building on this analysis, concrete and innovative actions will be proposed across all partner universities starting in September 2026. These initiatives will be shaped directly by the survey findings, ensuring that what we offer next genuinely responds to the needs of each university community.

Stay tuned for updates as we move from data to action, and get ready to take part in the initiatives ahead!
